SE Sampo Life Insurance Baltic belongs to the Sampo Group, a Finnish financial group. The sole owner of the company’s shares is Mandatum Life Insurance Company Ltd. The founding contract was signed on 7th April, 1999. Active marketing of life insurance services commenced in January 2000.

The main activities of Sampo Life are the concluding and managing of insurance contracts – life insurance with investment risk, capital insurance with secured interest and life insurance coverage.
The company has more than 40 000 customers in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The market share in the Baltic is about 15 %.

Sampo Group

The Sampo Group’s business is divided into two main business areas:
  • If P&C Insurance Company is the leading property and casualty insurance company in the Nordic region, with insurance operations that also encompass the Baltic countries. The P&C insurance group’s parent company, If P&C Insurance Holding Ltd, is located in Sweden, and the If subsidiaries provide insurance solutions and services in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltic countries.
  • Sampo Life, a life and pension insurance company, operates in Finland and the Baltic countries. The Sampo Life Group comprises the Finnish parent company, Sampo Life, fully owned by Sampo plc, and its subsidiary operating in the Baltic countries. The company also has a subsidiary supplementing the services of If in Sweden.
The Sampo Group’s holding company, Sampo plc, owns and administers the insurance subsidiaries. In addition, the company has approximately EUR 5 billion in investment assets following the divestment of the Sampo Bank Group.
